Vaccinations

South Africa has no vaccination requirements.


General

The capital of South Africa is Pretoria. It is situated in the central Gauteng Province, about 30 minute's drive from the OR Tambo International Airport. South Africa has 9 provinces. There are 11 official languages, but the majority of people speak English. We drive on the left hand side of the road.


Average temperatures and rainfall

Temperatures start to rise in September and lower in April. Rainfall varies in the different regions. EcoLife travels mainly through the northern and north-eastern parts of the country, namely the Gauteng, Limpopo, Mpumalanga and North-West Provinces. Essential Travel Information


Airport Transfers: EcoLife representatives meet travellers at the OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg.

VISA Requirements: Click here to find a list of countries which are exempt from acquiring a Visa to visit South Africa and other immigration information - Department of Home Affairs, Immigration Services

Passport validity: Travellers must carry a valid machine-readable passport with at least two blank visa pages and a validity of at least 30 days beyond their departure date.

Exit fees: There are no South African Revenue Service exit fees, to exit South Africa.

NOTE: The “South Africa Entry Form” website appears to be a third-party service provider. It does not reflect official South African immigration requirements and is not an authorised government platform.

Traveller Declaration: SARS has introduced a digital Traveller Declaration system for goods and travel details. This system is currently voluntary but will become mandatory in due course. It is a customs declaration, not a visa or entry permit.

**US Passport Holders**

Visa requirements: US passport holders visiting South Africa for up to 90 days for tourism or business purposes do not require a visa or entry permit.

No SARS entry fees: There is no regulation or mandatory requirement for US travellers to pay SARS a fee for entry or exit. Any reference to such a fee is incorrect.
