For more than 30 years, EcoLife Expeditions has been taking students, veterinarians, veterinary technicians and wildlife enthusiasts into the heart of Southern Africa’s wildlife and conservation landscape.

Based in South Africa, we operate where wildlife management, conservation and veterinary science come together. Our expeditions take you beyond observation and into the field, where you learn from experienced wildlife veterinarians, researchers, conservationists and rangers working on real conservation projects.

Whether you are developing your veterinary skills, gaining experience for your studies or simply passionate about Africa’s wildlife, EcoLife offers an opportunity to see behind the scenes. Experience wildlife medicine, rehabilitation, game capture, conservation research, disease management, ecology and community conservation in the places where the work actually happens.

Learning by doing

We believe the most meaningful learning comes through experience. Our programmes combine expert-led lectures and discussions with practical fieldwork, wildlife encounters and authentic conservation activities. No two expeditions are exactly the same because we work with active projects and respond to the opportunities and conditions we encounter in the field.

Our small groups allow participants to engage directly with the professionals they meet and become part of the experience rather than simply watching from the sidelines.
